Summer Project Round up

That time of year is upon us again, with a chill in the air and nights beginning to draw in, we  take a look back at our extensive list of projects completed this summer.

With various projects taking place both up and down the country and Internationally, UKFB have been busy!  Beginning with a project in Ledbury, UKFB surveyed and installed flood mitigation measures to Ledbury Rugby Club. These measures included products from the Flood Angel® range and also five passive flood defence system Midi’s, part of our revolutionary self closing flood barrier range. Working at the club caught the attention of the local media and the project appeared in Ledbury’s local newspaper, the Hereford times. Click here to read our 'Project of the month' for more information.

With works now complete, local residents and club members joined UKFB at the official commissioning of the passive flood defence system Midi’s last week.

A PLP (Property Level Protection) scheme in Bolton-On-Dearne was next on the list. This scheme, funded by Barnsley Council, involved 66 properties. UKFB surveyed, manufactured and installed Flood Angel® products to mitigate flooding to these properties.

A project down in Bath at Wessex Energy Centre saw our new Flood Angel® Steel Security and Flood Doors specified for installation. Due to the location and commercial aspect of the project this new addition to the product range was chosen to provide both security and flood protection to this critical infrastructure.

Other projects this summer included a scheme in Northumberland, where, working together with Home Group, 31 Flood Angel® Flood Defender™ Doors were installed. Another project that took place in Derby used a selection of Flood Defender™ Barriers and 160mm/110mm Non-Return Valves installed to Derby Civic Offices.

On a global scale, the summer was brought to a close with a trip to Mexico to oversee an installation of 6 passive flood defence system barriers. Our Technical Engineer, Noman Farooqui visited Monterrey to manage the passive flood defence system installation to an underground car park.

2013 has been an exciting, varied and busy year for us at UKFB so far. With further projects planned in the Midlands, Ireland and also Australia, our team are set to finish 2013 with a lot to be looking forward to!
