“In 2007 we underwent a £1m rebuild of our clubhouse facilities which was supposed to be constructed above the level of a 1 in 100 year flood. In July 2009 we were subjected to such a flood after 24 hours of unprecedented rainfall caused the River Wear to burst its bank and flood the building, despite the best efforts of the council, staff & members.
Since then we have been close to flooding on a further 3 occasions and in 2013 we sought advice from UKFB (and other flood prevention companies). We found the approach from UKFB very professional from the outset, taking time to understand the nature of the problems we faced and how our building operates.
We were impressed with the design of the products proposed and how discrete the installation would be when the barriers were not installed.
The installation was very a smooth process with minimal disruption and was carried out during operational hours in a safe and efficient manner.
As promised the installed products are very discrete and are easy to put into place. We hope they will not be needed but are much more confident that we have the protection needed in the event of future flooding.”
