Runnymede, Surrey is known as the ‘water meadow’ situated alongside the River Thames. Due to prolonged periods of heavy rain, the Thames Valley and the South East have been the main topic of news of late due to flooding causing damage to properties and infrastructures. It was January, 2014 when Runnymede was affected – a spell of heavy rain caused the Thames to overflow into A roads, fields and into properties.
UK Flood Barriers has been working on a property level protection scheme involving several at risk properties, over four phases, as part of the Runnymeade flood defence scheme.
Flood mitigation solutions include Flood Defender Door's with in built escape hatches, Sump & Pump systems, Anti-Flood Airbricks, Flood Defender Barriers and Backwater Valves.
