The Test Tank facility based at UKFB Headquarters, which was initially built in 2009, has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment which is now complete.

The Test Tank, operated by our sister company Environmental Enterprises, is the UK’s first ever privately owned BSI approved Research & Development testing facility.

The recent refurbishments have included the most noticeable addition of the Flood House, which allows visitors to experience flood conditions from inside the house. The Flood House is protected with Flood Defender Doors, Anti-Flood Airbricks, a Non-Return Valve and Sump & Pump system.

In addition to the Flood House, visitors can see the Self Activating Flood Barrier and an industrial Flood Gate working in live conditions.

The Tank is designed to test a range of products up to a depth of one metre, and is available to use by flood mitigation manufacturers to test their products to BSI Kitemark standards.

UK Flood Barriers welcome visits from industry stakeholders, homeowners and community flood groups and the media. Anyone interested in visiting should give us a call on 01905 773 282 to discuss.

In addition, adjacent to the Tank Room we have a new Innovation Gallery. The Gallery has been set up to showcase flood protection products, both domestic & commercial, and case studies of our projects.
